Function Hire

As a community venue, for the community, The Clubhouse Moorooka would love to host your next event in one of the many spaces we offer.

We are a licensed food and alcohol venue. This means you and your guests will enjoy our rotating range of locally brewed craft beverages and yummy catering across all our spaces without lifting a finger. Our food licence does not permit bringing in your own food, with the exception of birthday cakes, which we can safely store in our cold room.

The Clubhouse Moorooka has a range of seating options, tables and marquees to suit different needs and configurations. We can also connect you with suppliers we work with regularly to make your event shine. This includes public address systems for amplified music, specialised lighting effects, theming options or security for higher risk events.

Function Hire FAQ's

Regular Hours

We are opened to the general public Wednesday evenings, Friday afternoons from 3:00pm and both Saturday and Sunday from 1:00pm.

Our liquor licence allows us to operate until 10:00pm without variation.

Other Hours

We can be available to accommodate for functions outside our normal operating times, however could attract additional costs such as variation to our licensing, cleaning, bar and event staff. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

Catering & Beverages

We are fully licensed and do not allow BYO food or drinks. There are several catering options available to suit your needs.

Food options include:

Antipasto, cheese, fruit, hot and/or cold platters.
Bean on the Green can provide further catering options.
There are a range of food trucks available during regular opening hours, contact us to find out what truck is booked for your preferred dates, or have a look at our Eat page. Nearly all cater for dietary requirements.
We can discuss other external catering options based on your needs.

We do allow patrons to bring in birthday cakes. We can store it in the fridge on the premises.

Beverages

The Clubhouse Moorooka has a rotating range of independently brewed craft beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages.

You can order drinks in advance, organise a bar tab or purchase them individually on the day. For larger events, we recommend organising drinks in advance so we can cater for any specific preferences.

Decorations

You can dress your area to suit the occasion. However please note the following conditions:

No confetti or confetti like decorations
No small beads or similar decorations
No helium balloons (BCC regulation)
No glitter

No party poppers

Please note any decorations put up must also be taken down and disposed of.

If you wish to have balloons they must be approved by management. This includes being biodegradable, tied up (not on floor) and you are responsible for taking them with you when the function is complete. Children are not permitted to handle any balloons whilst on premises.

Presents

All boxes, wrapping, ribbons, bags and cards are to be removed by the hirer.

Waste

We have limited capacity for waste.

Additional waste such as decorations, packaging and presents wrapping will need to be taken with you.

Indoors

All indoor spaces are air-conditioned and can cater for a range of social, corporate and public events.

The Bistro

The biggest of The Clubhouse spaces, The Bistro features a staged area that has played host to a range of musical and arts performances. From the opening of the Brisbane International Jazz Festival featuring a 30 piece brass band through to indy rock bands for The Magic Mile, this space offers versatility for both ticketed and free events.

PA system suitable for spoken word and background music
Seperate ambulant toilets
Proximity to the Main Bar with option for pop-up kiosk bar for higher capacity events
Large Capacity of between 100-300 people
This space can be partitioned off for ticketed or private events

The Koala Room

Perfect for private social events through to a range of corporate and community uses. The Koala Room offers air conditioned comfort overlooking our bowling greens. The room provides adaptability to be partitioned from The Clubhouse’s shared communal facilities for private functions, group classes or opened up to drive increased foot traffic.

Social, corporate or non-government organisation functions
Wedding Receptions
Group classes
Medium Capacity of between 100 (seated) and 220 (standing)

The Arcade

Perfect for children of all generations, host the ultimate arcade party in our retro arcade room. Suitable for children aged 13+.

Outdoors

For larger events or for those seeking to be more active, The Clubhouse offers a range of outdoor options big or small.

Lawn Bowls on the B Green

Take your event to the next level with the green that was fit for the Queen. Our bowling green features couch grass, the standard when Queen Elizabeth II perched on our balcony to watch over the lawn bowls during the 1982 Commonwealth Games.

Suitable for events where you’re looking to provide a activity that caters to both active and not-so-active guests. Bring your own bowls, or borrow ours for a small security deposit, refunded at the end of your function.

Note: To keep our green in the perfect shape for bowling, this area is not suitable for animals, or young children without adult supervision.

Marquee on the A or C Green

Looking to host an outdoor event under the shade of the Clubhouse Moorooka marquee? This garden party option has catered for a range of events from birthdays to weddings and is perfect for the whole family - including your four-legged friends.

Suitable for small to large groups, pet friendly.

A green:

Reserve yourself space away from the crowds on the A green.
Includes exclusive use of our 6m x 3m marquee
With trestle tables & chairs
Capacity for 100+

C green:

Be amongst the action on the C green
Perfect for entertaining for groups 20+
Includes 3m x 3m marquee
Capacity: 20-50
